Dear Maltese Friends,

I was appointed as Ambassador of the Republic Türkiye to the Republic of Malta on December 9^th, 2022, by H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye and presented my credentials to H.E. George Vella, President of Malta, on February 23^rd, 2023.

First of all, I would like to convey my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the people and government of friendly Malta for their support and solidarity with Türkiye and the Turkish people following the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye.

Türkiye and Malta enjoy well founded and strong historical relations. The Turkish Military Cemetery, which reflects our common heritage, is a testament to this. As two countries in the Mediterranean, we share so many common traits in our social, cultural, and strong family lives and so many common words in our respective languages.

Today, Turkish people, companies and products can be seen all around Malta. I am very happy to witness that our Maltese friends are so satisfied with the services provided by Turkish enterprises, the construction projects successfully completed by Turkish companies and the very positive contribution of Turkish people in all walks of daily life in Malta. While Turkish-made public buses link people to each other on these islands, Turkish Airlines as well as Turkish owned and operated free port and cruise ports link Malta to the world.

Every year more and more Maltese friends visit Türkiye to establish business relations, to receive healthcare and for tourism. I am always delighted to see that our Maltese friends return happily from their visits to Türkiye.

Our Embassy team and I will work with full determination to further develop the friendly relations between Türkiye and Malta, make Turkish-Maltese partnerships more mutually beneficial and establish even stronger relations between the people of Türkiye and Malta. We will encourage Turkish and Maltese companies to carry out profitable joint projects not only bilaterally, but also in third party countries and geographies. We will encourage our peoples to enhance their existing partnership in every field, including healthcare and the manufacturing of vaccines-medicines, education, science, hi-tech and innovation.

We will reach out to you using all available means. We also kindly request from you, dear Maltese friends, to reach out to us, come and visit our Embassy, visit Türkiye and establish even stronger business bonds with Turkish companies and business both in Türkiye and Malta as well as in other countries.

Together, our peoples, companies and enterprises will thrive more and more each day.
